Ana Poenariu and Andrei Ciurcanu investigated shady masks and other medical equipment deals involving Romanian organized crime groups or the government. The first investigation exposes how a woman who used to work for the Ministry of Transport in Romania and a convicted organised crime associate sold noncompliant masks to a state company who delivered them to hospitals. The journalists also went undercover and pretended to be business people interested in buying masks for selling them to state hospitals. The seller was also a member of another organized crime associate.
