In this class we will examine the Covid-19 investigations done through Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) over the past two years. When the pandemic and the lockdowns hit in March of 2020, it became clear that there would be important pandemic-related stories to investigate in Arab countries. ARIJ ended up publishing 14 stories from eight countries. In this class we will examine some of those stories. What did they uncover? How were the reporters able to investigate without on-the-ground reporting and face-to-face interviews?
